Cigar Dojo's top ten cigars of 2016 (and I haven't tried any of them yet)

Here's the list.

Even though I know taste is subjective (e.g. I hate carrots and love eggplant and everyone I know loves carrots and hates eggplant) but I am always interested in these 'best of the year' lists.

Here's their number one: the Warped Maestro del Tiempo. Have you tried it?

Its an interesting list. I totally overlooked the Tabernacle last year and havent seen many people smoking them. Bellas Artes reviews have been all over the map.

I've never even heard of most of them.....

This may be because they only rate cigars that were newly released in the year. That being said, I forgot about Mellilo's Tabernacle. I'll have to pick up a fiver.

Ive had the Maestro del Tiempo in both vitolas. Good sticks but I thought the GOTF and Lirio Rojo were both better releases. Also tried the Tabernacle lancero. Better than the Charter Oak release but doesn't quite reach the bar he set with El Gueguense IMO.

I definitely agree with their luxury smoke of the year....Dion knocked it out of the park with the Haut 10. The price is steep, but I look at it like Vincent Vega buying the mad man heroin in Pulp Fiction....when you smoke it you know where that money went.

Only one of those I've had is the MdT, though only in the 6102R edition. It is a fantastic smoke!

I like the Bellas Artes. I have a MDT around here somewhere. I'll plan on smoking it today

Decent list.... but I found the MDT to be terrible.... am I the only one?

I have smoked 3 so far and just didn't enjoy them.

Wasn't overly impressed, was okay.

MDT is good - agreed with @HIM* that the GOTF is better
Tabernacle is good - very enjoyable, especially since it's not my preferred profile
AVO Fogata is good - well worth smoking
Davi Yamasa is good - also worth smoking, although I like the regular Davidoff profile better personally

Haven't tried the Matilde, but they make a good cigar.
C&A has had a lot of buzz on BOTL the last few months, haven't tried any but I would.
Bella Artes, probably decent but not an AJF fan.
Particulares, this sounds like it's going to be a horrible experience just from the name.
Camacho, haven't tried but nope.
Caldwell, also no.

Wow, I've actually had each of these and I think these sticks being in the top 10 are spot on. Although, I would have ranked them like this (Dojo's rank in parentheses):

Overly acidic Nicaraguan cigars? Check!
Hipster smokes for street cred? Check!
A few skunky, funky-tasting Davidoffs? Check!Omission of Cuban cigars? Check!

This is pretty much every internet list. Wake me up when someone does, says or even smokes something interesting. Zzzzzzzzzzz......Zzzzzzzzzzz.....(cough, cough).....Zzzzzzzzz.
