Starting out it is nice to have some kind of list and those listed above are good choices. But don't forget to utilize your tobacconist or shop owner. It is good to build a relationship with them so you can get to know each other.

Having said that, Fuente makes some very good cigars with several moderately priced. Just stay away from Curly Heads IMO.

Enjoy experimenting and the slippery slope.

It depends on your budget. Personally, when I started, I wish someone had pointed me to:
  • LP (which at the time was fantastic)
  • Tatuaje
  • L'Atelier
  • My Father Le Bijou
  • Illusione if you like the milder stuff
  • Anejo
  • (Jericho Hill, Caldwell, Romacraft stuff is pretty decent too)
I would have rather bought much much less crap and smoked nicer sticks from the start.
