OK Grrr, where are ya? This was a long time coming but this morning I decided to get back out in the shop, make a powder horn and finish that cob-foolery,
First, I turned the cob on my lathe, cob is VERY hard and chips while it is being turned, so I didnt do too much on that end, then I turned the top rim out of cow horn, since I have so much laying around. I wanted a calabash look but I could not find a hunk of horn that would let it be done. The bottom is a hunk of deer antler, turned in the shape of a finial, I filed the stem down so that a 7MM rem. mag. would slip over it and fixed it in place, drilled the primer end out to accept the origiunal stem that came with the pipe. I gotta say, its weird looking
