  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

When I am going for flavor and to really enjoy the cigar, Xi3 straight cut hands down.
However for by the pool or out with the guys talking, I'll use the punch, I find it produces cooler smoke although less smoke. Allowing for a more casual experience.

I use all three but since my lighter and keychain both have punches, that's what I end up using most. Punch first, and if it's too tight, straight cut it

Always only used a guillotine cutter. Never even heard of the punch until well after I started smoking cigars, so I guess I'm just used to the cutter

I just punched my first one the other day and have to say I think thats the way to go for the large rg cigars. It seemed to make the draw about the same as some of the smaller rg cigars ive smoked.

Right now I cut Torps and Lanceros and punch everything else, but again, that's right now. Several years ago I punched most everything, and then after a while cut everything for a couple years, and now I'm back to punching. Who knows what I'll be using tomorrow?

I use a cutter the most but keep punchs on hand for smaller sticks. When I forget mine I have started cutting slits in the back with my pocket knife and actually like it

This. If I'm smoking a large rg, I'll use a punch to narrow the draw.

So basically the only time I use a punch is when my friend Terry hands me a huge cigar I don't really want to smoke!

Mostly punch, only because it's always in my pocket.

Also, I think my cutter is dull and I worry on large ring gauge sticks that I'm going to crush it.

I do like an X-Cut, however.

I never tried an x-cut. Or a v-cut. or the ninja star thinggy.

I have a double guillotine that is becoming dull :(
I had a punch but lost it in a move. Don't want to buy another one because I know I'll find it right after. its always like that.

this said, the small inexpensive punch are rather efficient and works well on larger RG where the cutter is problematic. Always had good results with the punch.
