Come on Rutkus, taping is not inhuman. It makes opening the box that much funner and interesting for the recipient and always get there safe and sound.

After i got a couple with tape over the tab, I figured i would just spread the joy and tape over it as well. Somtimes I cover the whole box with tape then put it in another box completely covered by tape.
