  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I've heard a lot of the 'bullshit' marketing remarks but I think that Tatuaje (and all the other lines under his belt) have generated a lot of heat and has made some of the giants a little pissed.

I don't like having a limited run of things either, but at least he has tried to get an exceptional cigar out. I wonder if they can even remember that Tatuaje is just a boutique brand...

I always thought word of mouth was the best "marketing" out there. I personally have never seen an ad for Tat's anywhere. Just because a company focuses on quality and not quantity I would hardly call that a marketing strategy. All I know about Tatuaje is that they are great smokes(the several I have tried). I, like a few here, had not heard of them before joining here. After reading so many positive reviews of them I got a few to try and have bought a couple boxes since. I don't buy cigars for any status value, I buy what I like to smoke. So if I am sheepish for trying them(and liking them), so be it.

I will not be making these until summer or fall next year. One release a year to protect the mark. I have many other brands that I need to concentrate on before i concentrate on El Triunfador and move forward with "bullshit" marketing.......

To answer the original question, I would choose the La Riqueza #2. I like the El Triunfador, but agree that a few months of rest should improve this cigar. That is certainly not unusual for a new release. Right now, I would rate it in the middle of the pack if I were to compare it to the other Tatuaje cigars that I've enjoyed.

I would pick the #2, even though I much prefer a thinner ring guage. Now if the La Riqueza was available in a lancero, I'm sure that would be a sublime cigar!

Only question that arises from this, is that protecting the trademark for El Triunfador ("before i concentrate on El Triunfador"). Is this just a quick small batch of cigars placed into the market to keep the trademark without a concentration or are you proud of this first release and feel that you concentrated enough time and effort to these lancero's.

For those whom may have been hurt deeply by my comment "baa", I personally apologize.

I have been eyeballing the #2, I have smoked few before and enjoy many with fellow smokers. Might as well end up picking up a box of the no 2. Since I am sure these #5 will be smoked by the end of the week. Thanks for the heads up.

If you have an opportunity to try the #3, you should really give that a spin as well. My favorite of the line so far...

Isn't that called Mutton?
Hehehehehehe.

Now to the culinary geek response:

Sheep has three life stages. The young, still breastfed sheep, is called lamb. Once it's grown and has started eating solids, it becomes a hogget. The elder, stronger flavoured, sheep is the one called mutton.
