  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

the jets made out real well on this whole deal
Your kidding right?

I guess John Madden has to calls it quits now as well. Seeing as he could only talk about Bret.

As for him being a Jet, not the most uncommon thing:

Michael Jordan.....................Washington Wizards
Joe Montana........................Kansas City Chiefs
Joe Willy Namath.................. Los Angeles Rams
Johnny Unitas...................... San Diego Chargers
Emmit Smith........................Arizona Cardinals
Jerry Rice............................Oakland Raiders
OJ simpson..........................San Francisco 49ers
Tony Dorsett.......................Denver Broncos
Ronnie Lott..........................Kansas City Chiefs
Reggie White........................Carolina Panthers
Bruce Smith.........................Washington Redskins
Chris Carter..........................Miami Dolphins
Thurman Thomas...................Maimi Dolphins
Eric Allen.............................Oakland Raiders
Babe Ruth............................Boston Red Sox

And the biggest for me was:

Vince Lombardi coaching the Washington Redskins

I am sure I am missing some, but these are the big ones.

Rice retired as a 49'er.

On August 19, 2006 the San Francisco 49ers announced that Rice would sign a contract with them, allowing him to retire as a member of the team where his career began. On August 24, Jerry Rice officially retired as a San Francisco 49er, signing a one-day ceremonial contract for $1,985,806.49 (The year Rice was drafted, his number, the year Rice retired, and his team) —1985 being the year he was drafted, 80 for his jersey number, 06 being the year he returned to the 49ers and 49 for his team. That figure was strictly ceremonial, and Rice received no money. There was a halftime ceremony to honor the wide receiver during the 49ers' matchup with the Seattle Seahawks on November 19, 2006. He was joined on the field by former teammates and coaches.

We were talking about playing for a different team after make a career for another. Yes He retired as a 49er, but his last game was played as a Raider.
