So, the wife was getting sick of all my cigar paraphernalia taking up our family room. She's tolerated it to this point, as being "part of the business" of being a cigar rep. She then stubbed her toe on my 48 qt cooler, and made mention of me getting a wine cooler to store all my smokes in to clean up the mess that is my cigar storage. I currently have a 400 ct havana foot locker, a 48 qt cooler, 2-100 ct humidors and a 50 ct reyes family cigars humidor, all stuffed to the brim. So I ordered an Edgestar thermo-electric 28 bottle wine cooler. The only "stipulation was that I have to get rid of the cooler, and put the wine-a-dor in my office next to my beer fridge. Done deal! The wine cooler shipped today, and I can't wait to get it here and setup!
I bought it from www.compactappliance.com for $200 shipped. I just went back and looked today, and it looks like they jacked the price up to $259.00... Looks like I got in just in time.
:D :D

Nice score. I feel your pain, my spouse was taking me to task quite often with all my "cigar stuff" strewn about the house.

On a similar topic...

Why is it when we get sucked into this vortex that we do not buy the right gear up front?

I have given thought to asking my Payroll Department if I can set up some sort of pre-tax withholding with disbursements to Pepin, Pete, NHC and a CI.

now THAT is an idea worth looking into. i'll allot 150 a paycheck if pete promises to keep me in smokes. just 1 a day, rotational basis, shipping twice a week.

That's what I'm afraid of. I've got about 25 boxes of smokes right now with more on the way..

If you have 25 boxes, then they won't fit. I have a smiliar 28 bottle unit. With beads, and oasis, etc, maybe 12 boxes and singles. To give comparision, a little smaller than a 70qt cooler.

Wife just said I could keep the Havana footlocker if need be. I've had guys tell me they've fit 30 boxes in theirs.

Pardon my ignorance ( yeah, it happens from time to time ) but I thought you wanted to stay away from Thermo-Electric Wineadors ??

No, you want to stay away from NON- Thermoelectric wineadors... Although, the compressor type can work, with some modifications, if you are handy with that kinda thing. Personally, I'd rather just pay a few bucks more for a thermoelectric unit and not have to fuss with it.

Poriggity is Correct.

I am sure RonC has some more expert insight, but basically a traditional fridge will dehumidify the inner environment and they are usually louder, vibrate more, etc...

When I need more room in mine, I just take out the shelves and "play tetris". I would think 20 boxes would bee the max, with little room for air. I lovr mine, but it took some time to get dialed in. Read though the threads here, on the subject.
