how do YOU handle your cellar?

Any pipe tobacco I buy gets opened & put into a mason jar & labeled with the name & tin date immediately. I store it all on a shelf in my man room in the basement. Just me being my OCD self really, but it does make it easier to manage & store. I just wouldn't feel right having a bunch of open tins laying around for some reason. I wanna see a pic of your stash too, Sean!

Where do you get those small mason jars from? I see me getting back into pipes now that I've started reading the Pipe Forum. LOL

Walmart generally has the halfpint wide mouth ball mason jars. Perfect for 2oz of baccy!

Most of my unopened tins are in an old repurposed medicine cabinet, the rest are stashed around my house in different places....I'm working on my tobacco hording issues. Anything that I open goes into a bail to jar, I usually keep 6-8 blends going at one time.

Speaking of pipe racks, and how to handle a cellar... What should one look for in a rack? Is this strictly a cosmetic preference issue. Are there some that work out better than others? Some for certain pipe styles that might not work for others? It's mostly just for display, right? They can cool and dry lying just about anywhere?
