I started pretty young. First cigar I was 15, had my first humidor back in '94 when I was 18. Quit when I needed to quit smoking cigarettes, now I'm a pretty avid cigar smoker .
I think we are the very same age, 1976 kid?

Now that it’s winter I’ll be down to 1-2 a week. I’ll spend the next few months stocking up and getting the collection in order(as small as it may be). Once the weather breaks I smoke more, however the majority of it gets done on the golf course or at the poker table with the boys.

I hate to admit it, but I was a cigarette smoker since high school. Started smoking cigars off and on in the mid 80s when I was around 21, quit cigarettes and got serious into cigars in the late 90s.

Andy this was pretty much my path. Cigs from high school then introduced to cigars in college in the early 80's. I believe my first one was a partagas or a macanudo. I was off and on with both during the 80's and 90's. Then started to buy a few boxes in the mid 90's and the sickness took off and finally went cold turkey on the cigs in 2000. Now pipes......I'm in trouble, LOL.

First cigar - I was 16/17? approx 2001 - best friends dad had humidors all over the place so we "Borrowed" two when we were curious (was a Padron). Been into them ever since - never had a problem buying them either before I was 18 up in Wisconsin.
Funny enough same friends dad each gave us a cuban Cohiba on the night of high school graduation

I started around 2000/2001, my boss at work kept a stocked humidor on his desk. He offered me one, we sat out in the parking lot after work and smoked. It was pretty good, I don't remember what stick it was, but I do know it was a knock off (that's pretty much all he smoked). I smoked cigars off and on until 2017, then I got into it completely. I smoke anywhere from a couple a week to 3-4 a day depending what's going on

I was a long time cigarette smoker as well 2 packs a day from 16-27. I quit in 2003 to be able to afford more/better cigars.

Had my first Swisher wood tip driving around with a buddy in my moms car because mine was out of commission, I was extreme anti smoking and it soda never flown in mine, but my mom had a 2 pack a day habit, and didnt drive without a cigarette in her hand, smoked the occasional Swisher or black and mild through high school. After basic training i picked up cigs and dip, so from 18-32 I was out of the cigar game. In 2013 my then future brother in law got a subscription to a monthly cigar club for Christmas, and invited me over to help enjoy. Smomed about 6 cigars until i picked up a humidor and tried storing my own in 2016, winter and lack of knowledge of wintering a humidor cost me about 75 cigars. Went back to just buying when i smoked at a liquor store or casino until april when I picked up a box of aging room Havao.... Now i have a brand new stocked winedor, several Brilliance© Tupperware and a wood humidor that's reseasoning for the winter.

Had my first cigar at about 11 years old....thieved it from my grandpa's stash. Don't remember the brand but they were in blue and white boxes. Instantly loved the taste and aroma. I bought a small humidor at about age 23 and started to get into it a bit but shelved the hobby once I had kids. Now, 26 years later I am fortunate enough to have the time and resources and I have really become somewhat obsessed with the journey of finding good smokes. I go through 5 to 7 cigars a week.

Smoked cigars off and on for like 12 years. Quit drinking 13 months ago and cigars sort of became the replacement, SORT OF. Smoke 1 a day typically at night to unwind. 3-5 a day of fishing or watching football etc.

I recently quit smoking cigarettes and a cigar at the shop during the day has replaced them
