Totally agree on the Regionals, LEs & Anejados MOST of the time. The few exceptions that I have bought multiple boxes and enjoyed are the RA Pheonicios, Edmund Dantes 109 and have a good feeling about the LGC Glorias, but again the LGCs are from 2016 so too young to test yet.
Shit dude, it's been a year, I'd at least have to try one... ;)

wholesale on these will be around 60.00
The vendors will get a slice, and then taxes.
This could add considerably to the cost on these.

Let me take a few swings at explaining this:
  • These cigars will be sold immediately once they arrive with no stragglers
  • Last time I checked, just because someone makes something with a high price tag, doesn't mean people are forced to buy it
  • This was an exercise to see what he could produce if he used the best resources available to him. Cool concept to me.
  • Whatever career or hobby you have, you wouldn't want to experiment with the best ingredients/products/services/etc you could get to see what you could produce?
  • You are not the target audience if you are complaining
  • There's lots of stuff you wouldn't spend money on that others would do happily

Isn’t the MSRP on a BBMF higher tho?

Just checked ... $125
The only place I know that they actually sell at that price is at La Casa in Vegas. I know the price at Holts is less and when the top tier Opus accounts get special cigars in they seem sell them for less as well, from what I've seen. Theyre still stupidly expensive but when they were available here at a shop in Detroit a couple years back the ask was $75 or so. Still high obviously, but not $100. And at least that's Fuente and you can almost excuse some of the asinine pricing they come up with as thats just par for the course.

I agree, its silly. Even if using some premium high end leaf, the price is astronomical.

The whole NC market has gotten silly, i don't buy into any of it anymore. And the stuff some of these brand owners are saying is laughable. I had skip talk about cuban companies using non cuban tobacco. I asked him for proof, he replied with "Do you have proof they arent?" I think if any owner of a brand is going to throw out such allegations, he should post proof or just keep their mouth shut.

Anyhow, if anybody does buy that cigar... please share a review. :)

You're missing the point. He has fans and a customer base, and a lot of those people are going to simply miss out on this release due to price tag issues. Gurkhas' His Majesty Reserve isn't meant for most people at the MSRP price either and the idiots who spend their money on it are just that, idiots. It's more about owning something expensive than it is smoking an excellent product. At $100/single I'm sure many of the same fools will buy this because of the price tag, which isn't about getting the product into your supporters/fans hands. Let's not forget Steve Saka is the same guy who said you can't make a good cigar for less than $10, which is obviously complete horseshit. As to your points:
- Selling through doesn't make it acceptable IMO. This is the same as saying the end justifies the means, which it doesn't.
- No one is forced to buy anything, that's absolutely true. Not sure what the fuck that has to do with what I'm saying.
- As I previously mentioned, its a contrived asinine concept to me so I have a difference of opinion on this matter.
- Not necessarily, there's always a point of diminishing returns on everything. Value is always a consideration for me.
- I'm not a fanboy or an idiot with a complete lack of understanding of the value of a dollar. Additionally, I understand the amount of great cigars available on the primary and secondary markets (NC and CC) that cost far, far less. So no, I wouldn't be the target audience for this, because I'm not a dipshit.
- What? Yeah, you're dead on, I guess. While its certainly not my thing, lots of people happily pay money to a dominatrix to get their balls stomped on. Doesn't make that a good use of funds in my book.
