Just scored these Cuban Montecristos

I just scored this box of Cuban Montecristo #4’s from a guy who’s dad passed away, they seem a little dry but I’m hoping I can bring them back. I only paid $50 for the sealed box of 25.

So from the date code I looked up, it appears these may be made in December 1996. They are a bit dry and I’m trying to bring them back some, do you think they are good to smoke. I smoked one, the draw and burn was excellent but light in flavor, but that could be attributed to the mild cigar, I really had no complaints except that. Just curious of opinions

Throw them into a ziplock bag with a boveda for 30 days and then revisit them

I’m not experienced enough to answer that question but in my opinion if there’s no mold smoke away

20 year old Monte 4s will be mild. I assume that they will taste better when properly humidified. Nice find!

Not much. Dried up uncared for years on end smokes are garbage.
'96 monty 4's are worth salvaging so id go 50-75 tops

Also in the whole lot of cigars was this fine sealed box of 1996 Cuban Cohiba Esplindidos, however I’ve not acquired these “yet” because of the potential worth and cost, but they look to be in excellent condition.

From experience ide put them in a bag with a good hydrometer and see exactly how dry they are. I forget what "science" says but it's something like a week per rg/3/rh.
