  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I can't believe I just talked myself into bidding on another Fiver of Beli's on Cigarbid. Isn't the fear you will miss the last chance to get some of a favorite stick sucky!

I like the 100 anos. I tried two of the barrel aged and was not overly impressed. Maybe I missed something.

It is a shame that the 100 Anos is so limited. I will keeping mine tucked away for very special occasion. It is also a shame that these bad boys cost so much and I am not loaded with cash. Its smokes like these that make the embargo a little more acceptable.

The "regular" La Aurora robusto with the cameroon wrapper (the one in the OP's photo) is a mild and great-tasting inexpensive cigar, IMO. Cigarbid regularly sells them for $9 to $11 per fiver...the best cigar value I've seen so far.

Actually, I've never had a bad La Aurora. The Black Label Legends cigar from CI is excellent as well.

I am confused by those who picked up a rum taste. I never got that....but who knows.
Those barrels have not had rum in em for many many years, decades even. They have been used for filler and binder for the top end La Aurora smokes...ie preferido, cien anos etc. The difference with the barrel aged is that they are putting the wrapper in the barrel as well. We have seen the barrels and all you smell is the tobacco. The purpose of the barrel is not to impart any taste, but rather provide a slow cooking area for the fermentation...kinda like a tercio.

Personally I stick to the 1495 as a staple cigar to keep in the humidor, but I did really enjoy the 100 anos and have not yet tried the barrel aged line but look forward to it.

Wow, I'm the flip flop of this, don't much care for the 1495, but love the 100 Anos. To each their own! Cheers Bro.
