This was my first time smoking anything from the Liga Privada line so I was hoping it would be a winner...
Well this cigar was good but nothing special.
PreLight: The draw started out loose, but ended up not being a super wind tunnel. The wrapper on this thing was super oily and toothy, which got my expectations up. It really is a beautiful cigar. Scent on the foot was rasiny and the cold draw had some slight pepper with a musty, sweet tobacco flavor.
Burn:
1st third - lots of black pepper that lingers with a fleeting bitter cocoa. Very flavorful but unrefined. I'm getting a kind of dark sweet fruit flavor but I can't really pinpoint it. Might be a plum like flavor. About an inch in the cocoa flavor is the predominant after taste.
As the 2nd third began I got a blast a plain popcorn. Nice toasty flavor but still muddy overall. The body has calmed down to something more medium. The aroma switched to more of a clove-like scent now and the flavor is still muddled and earthy.
The final third was more of the same... flavorful and bold but meh overall. Nothing to distinguish it.
Final thoughts:
Was the cigar good: yes
Was it special: no
Would I buy again: not right now. Gonna see how my other one ages.
I think this cigar has potential for aging. It has a lot going on, but nothing to make it refined.
If you have any aged T52s and would like to change my mind, my addy is in my profile lol.
