MSRP on the Opus Super Belicoso is $12 and that's before any state tobacco taxes. Maine has a tobacco tax of 20% of the wholesale price. You're saying that you got Opus Super Belicoso for $5.50 each? Hmmmmm
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
Personally, I wouldn't feel right buying cigars so cheaply unless I knew that the person was simply trying to clear them out. I love a good deal, but not if I'm taking advantage of someone else's mistake or ignorance. (I'm not trying to pass judgement, since I don't know the details of the transaction.)I don't think they guy who ran the shop really knew what he had.
I was thinking the exact same thing, I would atleast ask if this is honestly the correct price, and allow him to double check things first. Then if it was still the correct price according to the shop then I wouldn't feel so bad because I actually did my part in making sure that the price is correct. I like a good deal too, but damn! I find it odd that a shop owner would not know how much he paid his wholesaler and what he paid in taxes. If the shop's been around as long as you say, it didn't keep it's doors open by making those kind of mistakes. Something's not right here, just sayin'.I don't think they guy who ran the shop really knew what he had.
Probably a youngin relative that doesn't know what he's doing and looked up the wrong price. I can see xochristy sprinting to the car from the register.:stretchgrI find it odd that a shop owner would not know how much he paid his wholesaler and what he paid in taxes. That would be my guess also.Hey if this is an old Junk store it could be that he got them from someone's selling thier granddad's old stuff after he passed..or something anyway. I would have been all over that, a deal is a deal. If the shop keeper gave a price, and money exchanged hands, the deal is done. Then I would have run to my car so fast.....:cjump:
some of them do. They will also buy things that you bring in (some of them)Dont antiquers buy from estate sales!
