I know there is one forming for CC's but some brothers have expressed interest in joining a league where the cigars needn't be specific to origin or HTF's. If anyone is interested please let me know. Having no clue as to how to set one up a commissioner would be needed, hopefully someone that has done this before, and someone that we can all agree upon with a large enough humidor to store the stakes. The league would be 10 teams and the rules could be worked out amongst us. From what I've read Yahoo would be the best alternative for the league.

Update
Pilfered this from Lee's NC thread, without his help I'd be completely lost.
If there are no objections Tuffy will be the Commish, Shuckins will store the stakes, and if there are any disputes (really not expecting any) Kevin (tubaman) as senior member with BOM status will act as arbitrator.

Draft date is set for Sept. 2 at 9:30 pm EDT.

Format

Teams: 10 teams

If you guys want to start posting suggestions as to rules and guidelines for discussion feel free. I'll start this off by suggesting that the stakes be a fiver of friendly smokes. Like if a friend popped over and you offered him a cigar what would you give him. NC, CC whatever as long as it's not a Tiparillo.

How about a friend that smokes cigars and knows what he is talking about.

I was thinking personally from my stash off the top of my head:

Perdermo ESV
Man O' War
some sort of Padilla
Something by Pepin

1 QB
2 RB
1 TE
2 WR
1 KR
1 FLEX (can be: RB, TE, or WR)
1 DF

waver wire reset ever sunday to last place team is #1 on the waver wire.

16 players on the roster.

A new thing they are doing in some leagues is: instead of drafting individual QB's, you draft a team as a QB and you get all QB's on that teams roster

I don't like that Team of QBs thing.... no thanks
It really depends on the league set up. Some leagues start two QB's, so in those it makes more since. If you drafted Tom Brady last year (his average draft spot last year was #4) you might think differently, but I am ok either way. If you use that system you get credit for all numbers put up by that teams QB's, so for instance, if the Colts are up big, and they sit Manning early you would get his back up numbers as well. I don't care which we use. I am in 7 to 8 leagues every year, and most of them are set up just a little different.

Also if we only have 8 people wanting to do this we still can.

You play every team twice with two weeks of playoffs.

Week 1-14 would be regular season. Top 4 teams advance to playoffs.

Week 15 team 1 plays team 4, and team 2 plays team 3

Week 16 winner of team 1&4 plays winner of teams 2&3

OK, so do we have any objections if opendendstraight sets this up, apparently he has some idea of what he's doing and exactly what I was looking for.

openendstraight is fine with me.
where are the how to play instructions?
It looks like you and I are in the same boat! This might help to get a basic understanding. Apparently the most important aspect of the game is to keep your roster current each week so that you don't play someone that's on a bye week or injured.

In poker we have a term for the inexperienced player that goes through the motions and usually ends up donating, he's called a fish. Why do I feel that I'm beginning to grow gills!

Actually in FF the least you know, or atleast think you know is sometimes better. The main thing is having a correct roster each week. With the NFL it is nearly impossible to predict who is going to have a great or even good week.
