i have gotten lucky and found a few guys who have come to be friends. real life says we don't play as often as we'd like, and we build less than we should, but it's a great excuse for dude time, AND a creative outlet for us.
talk to guys at your B&M about your nerd games. if someone at a FNM or prerelease seems cool, see if they are down with stories, and maybe a couple beers. reach out and find if someone else "gets" what you're talking about. see if they respond, even if it is only froma novice's point of view. three of my guys, I taught MYSELF. and now they kick my ass routinely. it does take a little luck to gather a play group, but it WILL NEVER happen if you don't network it.
