  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Right now it's a tie between:

Punch Punch -CoH 182.00
Partagas Lusitanias - Promo 251.00
San Luis Rey Serie A -CoH 159.00
Cuaba Salomones -CoH 145.00
Cuaba Salomones -CoH 145.00

-AND-
Punch Punch -CoH 182.00
Partagas Lusitanias - Promo 251.00
Punch Royal Selection No.12 -CoH 125.00
Cuaba Salomones -CoH 145.00
Cuaba Salomones -CoH 145.00

But #1 actually got a negative vote.

So... It's option #2

I like #2 as well... not that my vote counts for diddly. :smt023

Since the total for #2 is $848 with the 20 Salomones and 8 of them being purchased ala carte, does that mean $116 goes back into the bank for next month?

Yes, that is what happens. The money for those goes back into the pool. In a way, those that buy the extras come out a little ahead in the number of smokes that they'll end up with in the long run. Those that don't get the added benefit of making a larger or better buy somewhere down the road.

Member by member, I'd assume this works out in the long term to everyone's benefit.

if someone has a credit card that doesn't charge the curr. conversion fee, we can get the Cuaba's on special now from puroexpress for:

(2) Boxes of (10), like above, for 183 Euros, which currently converts to:

$239 (U.S.). That price is shipping inclusive now with them, so it lookes like we would save around 40 bucks.

I think this way is fine too, but what about reducing the non-extra cigar buyers' share price for that month? Would that come out all screwed up, or what. I only ask, b/c I kinda see your point about the ala carte buyers actually benefitting "twice". I get to buy more Salomones, due to everyone elses $ being used to get them. Then, the bonus $ in the pot is used to get better/more smokes in the future. Both me and the non ala carte buyer will end up getting the same #/type of sticks from that future buy.

Of course, you could just tell me to shut up and go to my room, aas long as I get sent to the room with the humidors.

Scott, That could be done to but we end up trying to track everyone's money separately and that's a pain. I plan on "recouping" by, some day down the road, picking up an extra stick on another buy, like ya'll did on this one.

With this purchase, the non extra buyers are only out just a little bit.

Totally agree. Over the course of several years, the individual account "tracking" would be beyone comprehension. Shit will all work out just great.

P.S. Thanks for the shark...again.

so are we going with #2? I'd like to at least nail down an official list so we can start seeing how the shares will be split up for march, and recruit new members if need be.

again, I feel terrible that only half of the cigars are here. we'll start collecting AFTER this month's selection arrives. it is only fair.
