more fuentes

seems like every day there is a new email from a store saying they have anejos, 858 r's and opus. i understand that there are many stores that are behind on their accounts so their product is being redistributed to those shops in good standing. but i dont' think i ever recall there being so much advertising about having these usually "htf" sticks (not counting jerome). is this just a sign of the times, or do you think there is actually more being released?

My theory is that there is probably the same amount of the regular HTF with of course additional stock for the New HTF - all the rosados, the newer opus sizes and the new anejo 60.

When these sticks were evenly distributed across all their accounts, the stores had just enough to satisfy their regulars and a little more so there was no need to broadcast it. Now the stores getting the extra allocations have the ability to advertise to sell their access alotment.

If you are paying top dollar you shop at the wrong places!!! 858rosado is going to be a holiday release similar to the hemmingway maduro's if I remember correctly.

I believe the 858 rosados are only 02, or 09s
The new ones are the Hemingway rosado in sig, and classic vitolas

Picked up an 858 Rosado and a Hemingway Rosado. Smoked the Hemi. I have to say this was the worst Fuente cigar I have ever smoked (and I smoke a lot of Fuentes) and one of the worst, overall, that I have ever tasted. One of my buddies tried one and thought it was so bad it was worth a phone call to another of our friends to warn him. I hope the 858 is better... JMO, YMMV.

Well, I believe we were told that many shops are not current with their accounts and that is why better run stores will be heavy with the higher end of Fuente's stuff.

never seen a store sell boxes of opus. then again i dont have the cash to buy a full box. a lot of stores have boxes of both this year. i think it has to do with the encoomy and the fact that a lot of stores are behind on the payments

You sure? Google 2010 rosado.. You will find nothing about a 2010... 2009 maybe... But not 2010... You will however find numerous threads on the Hemingway classic and signature rosados which did just get released.

He's saying that the Fuente's have increased production numbers on the Opus and Anejo, and in doing so, quality control, and quality of tobacco (in order to pump out these greater numbers) has gone down.

I haven't been smoking long enough to tell a difference. I just know that the three year old Opus I had was better than the one year old Opus I smoked last month (though the younger was still fantastic)
