It's actually pretty upright but sporty at the same time which is why I like it.

I just got my license Summer of 07. Friend and I got together and bought a 96 Honda VTX 1100 ACE that was in really good condition off of Craigslist. Took the MSF course together and practiced on that bike for a while until I was feeling more comfrotable. Then I went and bought myself one of these. He bought out my half of the 1100.

I might be getting a bike in the next couple of weeks. Not the prettiest but she'll do for getting some riding time under my belt.
Those old Ninjas are really nice bikes, and they're particularly good for a beginner. Is that a 500? The 250s used to be very popular amateur race bikes (probably still are?), since they were light and nimble, and could be set up to handle great. I used to ride a lot when I lived near Napa Valley, and I seriously considered buying a Ninja 250 to take advantage of the tight curves in the roads around there. If I recall, the stock suspension on those bikes isn't great, but if you replace the fork springs and the rear shock you'll have a great little sport bike.

It's a 95 Ninja 500EX. I've heard the suspension & brakes can use some upgrading. The decals on the side are going to come off, new exhaust, retune the carbs and replace the headlight.
