Typically, I spend 20 to 30 dollars on a sampler pack or a 5 pack of the lower end of the price spectrum. This time, craving my first torpedo cigar, decided to try an online retailer other than Gotham cigar. I had only used them before because I'm a little wary of the possibility of spending money on a site that could in fact be fake. So I went outside my comfort zone and searched elsewhere. I ended up finding this little beauty. A Perdomo Factory Tour Maduro torpedo. This cigar became my first single cigar purchase, my first torpedo, and my first cigar that cost 8 dollars just for one cigar, all in one. After allowing it to sit unwrapped in my humidor for exactly 24 hours, it also became the very best cigar I have ever smoked. I can definitely say I am sold on Perdomo.

Haven't had that particular one, but Perdomo makes some pretty tasty, quality smokes. Definitely worth trying out some of their other offerings.
Just had my first Lot 23 the other day and would highly recommend it.
Someone will definitely correct me if I am wrong, but for nc's, at least the under $15 a piece ones, I don't think you really have to worry about fakes or scam sites.
A quick Google search will pull up the main, highly used vendors. You're pretty safe on nc's.
I'm a big fan of all the tapered head cigars. They just seem to be more comfortable in the mouth on 50+ rg smokes, and seem to have better flavor and smoke volume compared to the same cigar in a regular shaped vitola. I typically buy the tapered head version of any cigar its an option in.
