depends on your receiver. if it is just an audio receiver your cable box/dvr/sat audio goes into one input, game system audio in another and probably you cd/DVD
player in yet another. the video connections would need to be made from each of the devices also to the tv.
If the receiver is audio/video the receiver is truly the hub of the system and all connections, audio and video will come in from the peripherals and out of it to the tv, usually by hdmi cable.

What kind of audio receiver are you using? You should have all audio plug into the receiver's input, then set outs to the TV, DVD player, xbox, etc.

You need to plug the xbox into the receiver and your dvr into the receiver. Then run an hdmi to your tv from the receiver.

The receiver does all the work. It takes all inputs and then sends one stream to the tv. Good luck

does you tv have any output ports compatible with your receiver? remember, output, not input....you can try to pass the audio through the tv into the receiver.

english please....:stickbeat <----------me!
some receivers had/have single port optical connectors that passes audio between devices, but it required a special cable. if you don't recognize it, you probably don't have it. no biggie.

I think that might be the way to go, hdmi is great, but only when everything is hdmi.

What are your input options on the receiver? You can usually swap things around; ie-I have HDMI going into my TV, but then Optical to shoot the audio out to the receiver. If your receiver has any sort of digital audio input, you will want to use that output from your tv to get the signal down in surround.

That receiver has 3 digital audio inputs on the back. The round plug that says COAX and the 2 square ports next to it marked OPT1 and OPT2.

That means you can use this [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-PureAV-AV20100-06-Digital-Coaxial/dp/B0001XGQV8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1317579632&sr=8-3"]Amazon.com: Belkin PureAV AV20100-06 6-Foot Digital Coaxial Audio Cable: Electronics@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/319EQ0MQ5FL.@@AMEPARAM@@319EQ0MQ5FL[/ame]. HDMI to TV for Fios and Xbox, then TV to receiver using one of those, and you will get your full surround.
