While digging in my long forgotten section I stumbled on an interesting find. Apparently I have an original Partagas 150 Don Ramon still in coffin. Can my brotherly experts tell me more about this? I looked it up and all I am seeing are ridiculous prices for this stick. The famed Christies auction house apparently had an auction for a full box of ten which sold for $1,840...over a decade ago!!

http://www.christies.com/LotFinder/lot_details.aspx?intObjectID=1959209

I am wondering it's value today as I can't find a recent sale anywhere... Anyone ever try these? If so, how are they? Thanks in advance for any info regarding this stick.

No, really just trying to get an idea about it since it's apparently from 1995 and can't find a recent reference.

If these are the dominican with the cameroon wrapper. Light it up for a morning smoke. They are very mild.

IIRC the 150's were rolled with some cameroon wrapper that they found in the warehouse, supposedly already 18+ years old.

The 'book' sold for MSRP of $5000 and was a 10ct humidor holding 10 coffins.
1000 'books' released, 10,000 cigars rolled. Crazy prices if you ask me though.

Wow, any idea how long ago it was sold at that price? From what your saying I'm sitting on a $500 stick that I didn't even know about. I found the wrapper was from 1977 making it 34 years old. Stick itself rolled in 1995. Maybe Brooks knows about these.

Honestly the one I've smoked recently was just okay. Nothing special......imho. I'd be more psyc'd over a Stanford 90th, Don Carlos lancero, or a Casa Fuente cg.

My boss has a full box of the Don Ramons (the box is awesome!!!) and tried selling it on an online marketplace a few times for $800 but nobody would take it.
They are really good cigars -- just incredibly mild and subtle. They might not garnish large prices due to their mild body, tho.

i smoked my last one on fathers day morning 3 years ago. i had two. when i got them, i was told they were a little past prime at that point, and that was 3 years ago.

agreed, it was mild. but it was a great morning smoke on a special day and i paired it with some delicious blue mountain coffee.

i enjoyed the 2 i had, but again, they were mild, not that that's always a bad thing

They are expired, but still flavorful (they were mild when released, and have certainly not gotten stronger since then)...

There is no way you will get anywhere close to $500 for the stick, in fact, I would be surprised if you could get more then about $30 for it, if you tried to sell it...

It is fairly rare, just not very popular...

Hope that helps!

I haven't smoked one from a coffin, but I smoked one from the humidor about a year ago and it was very good! Very mild, but the camaroon wrapper really came through. No harshness at all. I smoked this blind too, so I didn't have any preconceived notions about the cigar.
