  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I have been wanting to say this but have not yet. I hope everyone understands the spread in Vegas has nothing to do with who the sports books think will will win or by how much.

The spread is what it is because the casino set it up to split the betting. They want equal bets on both sides, that way they can't lose. Remember they take a 5% vig on all winning bets plus all losing bets.

Example: Even if the casinos think Pitt will win by 14 they will not set the spread at 14 becasue they know the betting public will bet heavy on Arizona. If they drop it to say 7 then it equals out the betting.

If you want to know what the casino realy think will happen look at the money line (no pionts bet). They set that closer to what they belive will happen. On a money line bet you just have to win straight up (no points).

I believe that it was

PITT -185 you winn $54 for every $100 you bet (minus 5%)
AZ +225 you winn $225 for every $100 you bet (minus 5%)

This meas the casino thinks that Pitt will easily. That is why you win so little on PITT and so much on AZ. If you look that is a difference of $171. The betting public can move the money line but not as much as the spread. This is why I bet the money line and parlay that with the over/under and other bets.

I thought the Cards were going to fall in NFC Championship game. I have to give Kurt Warner a lot of credit. Warner and Fitzgerald have led this team here. Can they continue for 60 more minutes?

Doc, I definitely agree with you on the Steelers defense. Vegas has the O/U at 46 1/2. This game by all means should be an under.

When the fat lady sings, the score will be Steelers 23 Cards 17.

For those of you who can wager, take the Cards and the 6 1/2 points.
Well, I hope you are wrong...I took the Steelers -6.5...and I do think they will cover. They look strong so far.

He played like a future HOFr when the game was on the line.
Yeah, yeah just over 400 yards, one touch down, one INT, and no MVP's (in two superbowls). We as a society give to much credit to average players. He is average at best.

Kurt Warner has the three highest passing yard totals, and most touchdowns in super bowl history, but he will not get in the HOF.

Tell me which should get in.
