In the spirit of Jerry's post re: Most Expensive. . .

What is the oldest cigar (habanos) you've had the opportunity to smoke?

Sorry, my experience isn't very exciting. . .a 6 year old smoke. . .'98 La Gloria Cubana Medaille D'or #1 smoked in 2004. . .not bad for a $10 stogie, but I'm sure nothing like a 10 or 20 year old Cohiba. . .

One that I've actually smoked - a 1991 BBF gifted to me by Jerry.
One that I have yet to smoke - an unknown year Cuban Davidoff #2 graciosuly gifted to me by Bman.

My thanks to these BOTL's!

Clear Havanas from the 1920's, 30's, 40's, 50's.
Many pre-embargo sticks from Havana.

u s and a
20 year old Cohiba. . .
that would be incredible =P~ considering cohibas as we know them today were released in 1982 (only the lanceros, coronas especiales and panatelas). the esplendido, robusto and exquisitos were introduced in 1989.

oldest I've had is a circa 1974 partagas presidente, I believe. or maybe some 40 year old cigarillos, which don't really taste any different than current cigarillos.

1986/7 Bolivar Corona Extra (1st box I bought) BTW it was $38.00 US for a box of 10 when I bought it. Wish I had that box full now.

Oh I'm sorry I was living in fantasy land above. See my post on most expensive Hav-A-Tampa Jewels.

So far, the oldest cigars I've smoked were both from 1980 - a Partagas Churchill Deluxe and an ERDM Panatela Larga. Both were.....memorable, to put it mildly.

I have a 1978 Hoyo Churchill that I'm saving for a really special occasion. :smt033
