Opus X Cufflinks

We often times have the debate about lighters and cutters and how there is a camp who feels a $2 lighter or cutter is just as good as you will ever need and some prefer a certain look or style that warrants a higher end purchase. Well today we got in one of those items and I have to say I may drop a little coin for a set of these bad boys. I don't get dressed up often so I don't mind breaking out the nice suit, nice watch and take around my nicer lighter, etc... So what say ye? You ever see yourself splurging a bit or is this the type of thing that a $10 pair is more than enough.

It's definitely a nice presentation... what is the MSRP? Not something I would wear as I'm not a Fuente junky, but they definitely look nice.

For that sort of change.. I think I can get something that looks much, much nicer (IMO).... or frankly spend between 1/3 - 1/2 of that and still get something extremely nice.. that will be more than enough for just about any occasion.. outside of attending one of P-diddy's "white" parties..

My personal view on that comparison: no. Those other two have mechanical attributes that contribute to the price. At least in my head, something that actually does something is easier to justify than something that is aesthetic from start to finish.

I see where you are are coming from, to a point. The jump in a $6000 to $10K watch is usually more than just mechanics.

Some would justify the DuPont by saying it's handmade from a block or whatever the case may be, but the mechanics don't separate it from lighters that are hundreds of dollars less.

I think it mostly comes down to preference. Common sense will likely prevail and I will just waste that money on something else or a couple of something else's, but I could see myself rocking these.

I'm sure some people would spend the money, but I don't have that kind of disposable income and I don't wear cufflinks enough to justify something like that. I wear a polo every day to work.
