  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Humidity control is similar to heat control. If you warm rocks around the camp fire and place them by your feet in sleeping bag you'll have warm feet late into the evening. If you warm a piece of Styrofoam, not so much. Cedar, cigars, boxes, kitty litter, Bovedas all act as humidity sinks in your tupperdoors. If you put dry cigars in a tupperdoor with lots of "humidity sinks" you will stabilize faster and maintain more even humidity levels.

I use the Sistema 7L with two Spanish cedar trays in each...throw in 3 boveda 65’s, a Caliber IV digital hygrometer, and it’s the perfect setup for my needs. The humidy is stable as can be.

When I put my first two together one for NC and CC I was unaware that they multiply “on their own”. I guess every system has its downfall.
