  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

That's funny. I was just thinking about this topic last night and I searched "cigarillo" and "Small Cigar" and came up with a pretty good list to try. The CAO's, Partagas black (which I love as a magnifico(toro) and people reported the small one tastes the same), the petit Tatuaje's, and three habanos that I can't get!!! Everyone said the habanos are the ABSOLUTE BEST. I however was looking for something that was the size of a Cigarette but the quality of a cigar. I did the math for the size of a cigarette in cigar sizes it's 25.1 X 4.73. I figured if it looked like a dark cigarette they wouldn't notice that I was consuming a much higher quality product and harass me.
Post the list you made!

OK Josh, here it is with vitola and sizes:
Petite Tatuaje 4.5 X 32
Petite Cabaiguan 4.5 X 32
Partagas Black Pronto 4.2 X 36
CAO Crillo Pampa 4.0 X 38
CAO Brazilla Coriocas 4.0 X 38
CAO Italia Piccolo 4.0 X 38
CAO Mx2 Dagger 4.0 X 38
CAO l'anniversarie cameroon petite 4.0 X 38
Hoyo Excalibur miniature 3.0 X 22 (smaller than a cigarette)
Hoyo Excalibur Cigarillo 4.0 X 24 (almost excatly a cigarette)
Don't hate, but I am also going to try the Cuban Honey's in honey and vanilla.
Those CAO's are on my list to try in Robusto size also I plan to get some sampler packs. I priced all these on CI and it is about $100 for all of these. There is also the dominican cohiba pequeno. The only habano I remember was the SCDLH EL Principe everyone who had it said settle for nothing less. I think the others were in the thread "little cigars".

There is also an Arturo Fuente Cubanitos that I want to try. I smoked an 8-5-8 this past weekend and I really liked it. It made the need to buy the box list!

After doing some research today at work. The Hoyo Excalibur is off the list. Apparently it is a cigarette (this explains the sizes) it is made in Denmark from clippings of the Hoyo Dominican factory. Look at what they do to the tobacco in cigarettes [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cigarette[/ame] YUCK!!!
sportsmedjosh, I also found that most manufacturers make a small size of the blend you like. For a quick look go to famous smoke .com and click on tins on the cigar drop down. This was very enlightning.

Who says they're cigarettes? I buy them but hardly ever smoke them -- I just stick them in my mouth as if they were chewing tobacco and suck on them for a while.

Just posted a review on a really great, quick smoke, in the domestic reviews section here. The Don Pepe is a miracle of handmade tobacco!

The Hoyo site says they are trimmngs from their cigar manufacturing process (when the cut the ends off in the press) are sent to denmark and the cigarillos are made from those trimmings to me that makes it a cigarette because it has chopped tobacco leaves. They also indicated some additional processing. To me long leaf fill = cigar short, chopped, or processed leaf = cigarette. Pete even makes a brand with short/chopped leaves but in cigar sizes. Those chopped leaves also burn hotter and gives more of that burrining cigarette taste. Just my opinion though. Bro, if you like it, smoke it, or chew it.
I'll try to find the link, I was at work, so it was a quick search.

I agree. However, curing process for cigarette vs. cigar tobacco is completely different- and I would say that the final product is much more cigar than cigarette. I bet that additional processing is some form of drying and ammonia removal.

Cigar tobacco is much more alkaline compared to cigarette tobacco which is more acidic. The acidity allows for easier inhalation coupled with the added sugar and that's how cigarettes are easier to pull into your lungs. So if they're made with cigar tobacco than they're simply little cigars that are just chopped left overs.
