  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I believe that picture is of Carlito Fuente. The only way to get a hold of someof those crazy Opus cigar sis to buy them at a Fuente Newman auction. The proceeds go towards thie FN Charity. I would make a wild guess that that is a $1000 cigar at auction if not more.

EDIT:
my bad this is a guy named Ariel, and I don't know who he is.

My rarest smokes are a pair of Garcia y Vega Bonded Havanas, circa 1940:

I bought these a few months ago to share with a friend of mine, but we haven't had a chance to smoke them yet. He and his wife are about to close on their first house, so maybe that will be a good excuse to fire these up.
damn those are nice ...
its gonna be 70 years old in two years ...
how much did you get them for btw ??? must have spent a fortune on these ...
if you got a third one keep it till 2010 and see how much the resale value would be ...

Yea probably would smoke the football ...
its more like a collectors item ... for people like me ... XD
160 rings ... thats insane

come on guys dont hold out on those nice cigar pictures ...

I take it these are not the same Garcia y Vega they used to sell at 7-11. . .
As far as I know, it's the same brand. I believe these were drugstore cigars back in their day, though bonded Havanas were among the better drugstore cigars.

Clear Havanas and bonded Havanas aren't terribly rare or expensive. (See http://gotham-cigar-museum.com for more details about these types of cigars.) I bought this pair on another board for around $40. $20 a stick is a bit pricey for me, but this was a unique opportunity. Unfortunately, these sticks were lost last night in a tragic fire. :smokingbo

Speaking of Curly Heads, I do have some when they were machine rolled in Tampa, Florida before the operation was moved to the Dominican Republic and were hand rolled...
