Appearance: 12/15
The wrapper on the cigar was predominantly dark brown, but became lighter towards the veins on the cigar. I would say it was a veiny cigar, but not too extreme. The only part I was disappointed at for appearance was the cap. It looked like an amateur put it on.
Ash: 10/10
The Ash was very sturdy on the cigar and I tapped it off just about 2 inches down. The color was more white than grey, and had very few flakes.
Burn: 4/10
Inconsistent would be a great way to describe to burn. It was off (one side was burning faster than the other) at the beginning, but right at the 1/3 mark it was razor sharp. No inconsistencies at all. I started to get excited because everything about this cigar was starting to shape up and tasting great. Then after the 2/3 mark to the finish it got very inconsistent and went out on me a couple of times. I ended up putting it out earlier than I wanted b/c of the burn.
Draw: 10/10
The draw was perfect, just slightly deliberate allowing me to get a great amount of smoke in each puff, but not overwhelming when it was not being drawn.
Smoke: 10/10
The smoke in this cigar was amazing. Every puff I took gave me a mouthful of smoke. As for the color of the smoke, who the hell cares?
Flavor: 15/20
There was nothing really special about the flavors in this cigar. I was able to pull out a chocolate and nuttiness throughout the smoke. The start of the cigar was bolder than the middle, but got a little harsh towards the end. This was probably cause by the relighting, more than the cigar itself. There was a little bit of ammonia still in this cigar and would probably be much better in about 6 months.
Uniqueness: 6/10
Like I stated before, there was no real wow factor in this cigar. It was good, but not great. The flavors stayed pretty constant, but never overbearing. I would consider the beginning and end of this cigar a medium to full bodied cigar, but in the middle it was definitely medium. The middle of the cigar was by far the best part. The flavors, burn and smoke all complemented each other. If this cigar continued this way I would have been very impressed, but it went downhill really fast.
Finish: 12/15
The finish to the cigar was not too bad. Even though the last part of the cigar was harsh, this did not stay with me very long. In fact, as Im typing this I can still taste the tobaccos with subtle hints of nuts.
Overall Score: 79
This was not a bad cigar, but also was not a great cigar. I would probably smoke it again, but would let it rest for a few months before attempting to light it.
