You could also hook up a sled to your dog and have him pull the beer home.

I used to live on the Appalachian Trail, and my driveway was a dirt road that went uphill for 1/2 mile. We had a blizzard back in '03 and I needed a pair of crampons to hike up that hill for like 2 months.

I remember those days fondly, but carrying beer, food, laundry up that m@$%^^&&$ hill was a pain in the ass. Though it was a killer snowboarding trail!
