What's a good beginners scotch? I hear everyone talking about how great a scotch and cigar are.
This man knows what he speaks of!Balvenie DoubleWood in my opinion.
HP does Peat their whisky though, just not like on some of the other islands. Also, they do use Sherry casks, they just don't take as much sherry as, say, the Macallan.Highland Park 12. It's a strait highland scotch, so no sherry finish or big blast of peat or smoke. Good starting point and still one of the ones I enjoy the most.
The Macallan 12 is an excellent starting point.Any glen will do!
Maccallen 12 is a good jumping in spot also!
Disregard all that was said but this :thumbsup:I second the double wood!
Balvenie DoubleWood in my opinion.
I like both of these for someone new to scotch...Highland Park 12. It's a strait highland scotch, so no sherry finish or big blast of peat or smoke. Good starting point and still one of the ones I enjoy the most.
