Bought 14 Year Rare Perfection a couple weeks ago on the recommendation of my local. Opened it up last night, pretty different for an unfinished bourbon. Sweet and smoky on the palate, but a really short, dry finish. I haven't decided if I like it yet.

Local chain has had Kentucky Owl Batch 12 in their rare bourbon case for the better part of two years. Apparently my store got a case (6) in 2022 and hadn't sold a single one at the MSRP of $399. This is an excellent bourbon, but not a 400 dollar bourbon for me.

Binny's finally caved and lowered the price to $149. With a 20 dollar coupon I had, made it palatable to take the plinge.

Had some more of the Remus Gatsby last night during the Rangers-Panthers game.

Opened the Kentucky Owl. I'm happy with the first pour, great depth of flavor and complexity.

Really glad I paid 1/3rd of MSRP for it too.

Flet like something with a touch of sweetness to pair with the Monte. My last MM FAE-02 filled the bill. So good, may have to search out another...

Dropped off the GF's ring for repairs, then stopped into Sal's which is just across the street. They had just dropped their OFBS single barrel so I grabbed one of those to try.

Sunday I grabbed a couple EC private barrel picks commemorating 100 years of Medinah Country Club. One is for the friend who took us for a tour and lunch there a couple weeks ago.
