Romeo Y Julieta - Star Crossed Dark

It only had 24 hours to rest after being purchased at JR Cigars. So, we will see how it fares.

Edit:

One inch in and so far it's pretty decent. There is an oily feel on the smoke that can be attributed to the oily wrapper. There is a creamy texture to the smoke as well. The spice is minimal. There is some earth and leather with cedar and some nutmeg. There is a bit of sweetness that comes and goes.

If you like Dominican tobacco this is right up your alley. It might need more than a month of rest to start really shining though.

Crossing the halfway point brings the olor tobacco more to the front. There is an earthy flavor that reminds me of walking through a tobacco field after it rains. There is a slight mouth drying effect. Then the nutmeg, vanilla, and cedar come back.

Considering a box of ten is currently less than $50 on sale, I will buy a box next time I get paid. This is a good counter balance to all of the Nicaraguan heavy blends in most humidors. It was a finger burner for me.

I would love to smoke this blend with a Dominican Corojo Maduro wrapper.
