I think this is going to be a better game than anyone thinks.

I am going for Texas.

Yea, Alabama! Drown 'em Tide!
Every 'Bama man's behind you;
Hit your stride!
Go teach the Bulldogs to behave,
Send the Yellow Jackets to a watery grave!
And if a man starts to weaken,
That's a shame!
For 'Bama's pluck and grit
Have writ her name in crimson flame!
Fight on, fight on, fight on, men!
Remember the Rose Bowl we'll win then!
Go, roll to victory,
Hit your stride,
You're Dixie's football pride, Crimson Tide

Alabama gets lucky!!! Yeah I know sour grapes.

Our Freshman QB Garret Gilbert was baptized by fire. The kid still did a great job by throwing two touchdown passes to Shipley to trim the deficit to 24-21 with less than 10 minutes on the clock. So close yet...

If Colt would not gotten hurt, I think it is obvious, it would have been a much different outcome. We almost beat Alabama with a Freshman.

It was still great being there.

There is no way anyone could know what the outcome of this game would have been. Colt gets knocked out of the game. There goes the entire offensive game plan of Texas. But, that also disrupts Alabama's defensive game plan. I'm sure the #1 objective for Bama was to contain Colt McCoy. Well, all of a sudden, you have a new quarterback that you've never seen before. Who knows what he is able to do? The only thing Bama can do is pin their ears back and go for it. For all we know, Gilbert made the game closer than it would have been. I'm by no means a Bama fan. I hate them. But, you can't put an * by this victory because Colt McCoy got hurt. It effected both teams. Also, it is a TEAM sport.

I can't read the whole thread but .................WHAT WAS UP WITH THAT BS SHOVEL PASS ATTEMPT? SEALED IT UP

we can look forward to having that Freshman as a Qb he did pretty damn good, considering the pressure of being down by 18 in a campion ship game

I understand your point, but I beg to differ...

Colt McCoy has put up some of the best stats in NCAA history.

McCoys Stats

Gilberts Stats

Gilbert looked like a high school kid out there. He only completed 37.5% of his passes against Alabama. He only averaged 45.9% per game in 2009 vs. Colts 70.6%. Although Colt only made two pass attemps against Alabama he completed both of them.
