  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

See if promo will still honor the promotion prices since it just ended... that may save almost $70 for the 2 cabs.

michael -- I was thinking about that by telling them I was on vacation during the promotion, but I was afraid they were going to call me out because everytime I visit their site it says "welcome back, jorge patino"

anyway, won't hurt to ask. so I'm going to email them.

btw, does anyone have their sale price? I have that email saved on my home computer. wasn't it $321?

Very cool from Promo. They extended the promotional price for me, which is why I suggested it to you. Everyone can thank me for the savings later. =)

I'll bet they looked at your purchase history to determine if your worth extending this gesture to. Or maybe business isn't as good as it was last year. Any sale is a good sale.

I bet you they are losing some business to intact vendors. I've been noticing that a lot of guys are getting into the game and really competing against them. this all abodes well for the customer.

b.j. I'm looking at my chicken stratch and this is what I did:

$361 for the cab - 10% = $324.90

plus around $16 for duties (again, I'm just assuming fedex will double up the durties they typically charge for a dress box anywhere from $6.85 to $8.75 is what I've seen since march)

$340.90 for the cab / 50 = $6.82/cigar plus 3% for overseas transaction fee $7.03 cigar...x 13 plus pp fees and shipping ~ $98.97

it's funny how you get different figures depending on when you add percentages and shit. sorta like that math problem about the guy checking into the hotel but only having $35 for 5 nights but if you work it out one way it comes out to $42 or something like that.

the moral of the story is that the hotel, in this case the bank, always wins.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing.

Jorge, I'm sending $90.00 now and I'll send the rest with interest when I finish moving some money into my PP account. I hate keeping too much there because it does absolutely nothing and I forgot after Scott's split to move anything in.

yes, my bank started charging me for any overseas transaction.

I have some pending transactions, but as soon as they post I'll paste it up.

actually, I can look at my old statements on .pdf forms and I see only the original amount. maybe they eventually credit me back that charge, but when it posts I see a 3% charge bellow it, but on the .pdf I only see one charge. maybe they eventually refund me that. anyway, I'll call and get the scoop after lunch.

this is my cigar account and I only deposit enough cash in there to cover my monthly purchases, so I don't keep a close eye on the balance as I should.

standby.

that's fine bj, now that I was looking at my .pdf statements online I noticed something different. I'll call them after my meeting and quizno's.

No damn it, do it now.

heh.

BoA's site is down. If I remember correctly, when I ordered from Promo on Monday, the only charge was the box price. I didn't see anything else that looked like a fee attached through the account.

BTW, that box should be here today. 7 days total, not bad.
