I have a very nice drive into work. I take the back roads down along a lake and past a waterfall. Then it is down a highway for a couple minutes followed by some more back roads. Never much traffic, takes about 25-30 minutes. Total of 12 miles. I certainly am not complaining one bit!

How is your drive?

Since I live out on our ranch, but also have to work, I commute to the Denver area. It is about 75 miles one way. I don't run into much traffic until I get within 20 miles. Even at that it is on back roads (no interstates or Denver gridlock) so it takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Just the right amount of time to enjoy a cigar.

I have a 22 mile commute to work, 18 of those miles on I-95. I start at 7am, so I miss a lot of the traffic, and it takes me 25-30 minutes. It could be a lot worse!

I carpool with my wife. We work about 2 miles from each other, so this saves time and gas as we can use the commuter lane. The drive is typical suburban for most of the way ... houses, mixed with many strip malls, then changing to mostly office , warehouse and light industrial buildings. We leave at 7am and there is usually a fair amount of traffic (except in the commuter lane). The 12 mile drive usually takes 30 minutes ... sometimes more if we hit red lights. Without the commuter lane the trip is 45 min.

I avoid highways at all cost in the morning. They are usually packed with hard-core / longer-distance commuters who are cranked up on heavy caffeine and are usually doing their makeup or reading the paper while driving ... :lookaroun

I have a 34 mile commute and the fastest I have ever made it in is 45 minutes.

A typical day, while school is in session, is about 70 minutes in and 60 minutes home.

During the summer when a good percentage of the area is on vacation at any given time it's 50 minutes each way.

I don't touch the highways at all.

I walk out my front door, walk twenty two steps, open the drivers door and get in, I then speak these words "740 10-41" and like magic I'm at work :skew:

Ahhhh.. The perks of take-home cars and no roll-call at the office.

My drive is 42 miles. Half of it is rural 2-lane. The rest exurban 4-lane, through one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation. Inbound, 50 minutes to 1 hour. Coming home, 1 hour to 1 hour, 20 minutes, depending on I-95 traffic.

Whoopeeeee!

my commute is 6.2 miles (I had to look it up on google maps!) and takes me 10-15 minutes. I take the back roads through the hidden "rich" neighborhood and it makes me realize why I'm going to college. It really is gorgeous though. Huge trees, HUGE colonial houses with gigantic pilars and enormous lawns. I've never really lived that far away from my job, until my previous residence, I really don't ever want to do that again! I have mad respect for you guys that commute like an hour, my commute was 30 minutes to an hour and I was pissed every time I went to work or came home. . . too much stress for me!

I live about 8 miles from work, but it takes between20-30 minutes to get there each day. No freeways, but a lot of traffic. I still enjoy my morning smoke - if I get to work, then I sit in my car, and finish the smoke.

I commute 15 minutes to my college. Pretty laid back and not much traffic except people going the opposite way into the city.

15-20 minute walk to Newark Subway (light rail, aka a trolley) then ride that for 20-30 minutes, then I jump on the PATH and ride that for 20-30 minutes and I am at work.

14 miles of mostly country driving, one traffic light in a small town. No traffic to speak of since they're all heading east and I'm going south. Average time is 20 minutes due to slower travel on the back road portion and school buses.

Ewwww...I hate those school busses. There are usually around 10 cars behind them when I see a school bus in the morning. :hammersma
