I've smoked cigars that had this type of white mold. It's nothing to worry about. Just wipe them off and smoke them. The fact that the vendor didn't try to pass it off as plume just tells you that it is a good vendor.
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
^ditto. keep an eye out for thoseI once smoked one that had purple mold and I lost a day. Or was that a mushroom, can't remember.
Solid advice...I wipe them off with a soft, clean cloth lightly dampened with distilled water, then put them in a dry box for a few days. I use grain alcohol (ethanol - Everclear) to thoroughly clean the original box and let it air dry for a few days. I then put the smokes back into the original box, place them in the humidor and leave them alone for a month and then smoke them. Never had a problem with mold spreading elsewhere in decades of smoking. I DO NOT put them in a singles drawer where they can contact the wood directly, just in case.
gasp!i personally wouldn't keep them if the vendor would replace them. I just ran across this the other day on another forum
*warning: Cigar carnage!*

I did this exact same thing and got the same results. Was not a good idea, even though it seemed like one at the time.I once smoked one that had purple mold and I lost a day. Or was that a mushroom, can't remember.
