The coins can be rubbed out ( put one in between your hands and rub them together like you are warming your hands) or you can fold them into like triangles and stuff them into the pipe. I rub mine.
I've seen him before but the method he's promoting, in my opinion, is generally ineffective and will only sort of work with ribbon cut tobacco anyway. A method that was a good foundation for me is the "Frank Method."
