  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Well I have two of the Xikar lighters and I love them. I had one about a year and was not please with the flame adjusment. I sent it in and the sent one back. I know that it was a new one. I will never buy a different brand. Just do not send it in to them in December. I did not get it back untill Jan. Great product.

I'm a Xikar fan, have the cutter and punch and been eyin the lighter, but I've got this old Blaser micro tourch I've been using for about ten years now that I'm kind of sentimental about. Looks like I've been keeping it on a long string tied to my bumper, but I like it. Maybe I'll get the Xikar for spceial occasons... that dosn't even sound right. Like the cutters though.

Here's a chuckle for you. I just picked up Master Appliance's MicroTorch MT-5. It's piezo electric striker and only a single flame but very adjustable. I figure if it's hot enough to silver solder a brass snap on a buffalo nickle it'll light my sticks. OH. the best part is, work paid for it:smokingbo

I finally sent in my Enigma to get a new wheel put on. I have a cutter that I have had for 5 years and one of the pices fell off, so I sent them both in. The cutter was replaced... Wow, I forgot how sharp the cutter was when I bought it. The lighter had the wheel replaced. I went to fill it and the gas shot out all over my hands, shirt and face. It appears to have been damaged somewhere on the journey. I returned it again and they replaced it with the Axia. (The same model WhiteLightning picked up.) Seems to be a little more sturdy than the Enigma.

Great customer service in replacements and communications!:applause:

I just got the new Enigma lighter from Xikar. I ordered it off their web site. So far so good.

my buddy recently bought one of those, he really likes it, I have used it a couple of times and it really feels nice in the hand, good weight and I dont think he has refilled it yet. I want to buy one but every time I think about it I then think of the 6 lighters (4 ronsons) that I already have, damn conscience :)

Has any one tried one of the Xikar Trezo lighters. I like the intense heat generated with the triple flame.

I heard the triple flame burns fuel fast and isn't completely necessary. I suppose its preference though. I have the Element witch works great its a double flame with a SHARP built in punch.

I had a sweet triple flame Xikar... I loved the thing. TSA stole it from my checked bag.

Even if it did crap out on you they have the best customer service ever!!! I had a problem with my MTX tool and I called and said I didn't want to send it in, so he called a local dealer and told me to take it there that they would take care of it!!! I would buy anything from there!!!

OK, I'm the xikar naysayer.....While thiern cutters and customer service are just fine. The lighters I have had so far are crap. small tanks, and stopped workig after 3-4 smokes. I would rather buy a bic than a xikar lighter. I can get matches for free that are worth more than those lighters.

I also have the element that works very well. Picked up the pedermo lighter two weeks ago. Triple flame. To heavy to carry around. Leave it at home. It is a great light though.
