Latest T-52 are flawless. And damn, they are much darker if you sit it next to an older T-52. Can't wait to stock up. My old stock pile has gone from half full to more empty.

Good News:

T52 are hitting like beasts. Johnny Brooke put 4 boxes of them in my truck the day before the Great Smoke, and I'm glad he did. I gave them all out at the event. Luckily, I was able to share at least 30 out of the 96 with friends and people who I know real well, many of whom have been smoking T52 for years already. I was curious as to everyones opinion. Most found them to be consistent with the T52 of years past, with the only interesting difference as the strength was kicked up one notch.

Bad News:

We went through great lengths to pull T52 from the market for 13 months and cure the 2009 (American Habano) Crop to its fullest potential. So in no way are we going to pressure production in increasing output beyond expertise. We have been making them everyday, and slowly easing the team into more production. But we have to take it real slow.

Conclusion:

Right now, I believe that T52 is the finest regular production product that Drew Estate makes. Some people like Dirty Rat (which is in the T52 family and same wrapper), some like No.9 - and thats all fine. But all things considered, I believe that we have something to be pretty proud of in T52. Plus, I simply love the Habano Seed, Connecticut River Valley Grown, Stalk Cut/Cured capa.

Hope you guys get to enjoy them. All of the sponsor companies on BOTL are Liga Privada accounts, as well as Podmancigars.com

Best,
JD

JD,

I did find them consistent with a box I purchased last year and I did notice the extra strength. I love them and can't get enough!!!

I smoked the one I have been sitting on for a couple months and draw issue aside, I found it delicious and on par with past releases. I look forward to smoking my other one in the coming weeks.

A T52 with a little extra age is one of my favorite cigars period, all countries of origin factored in. A well-aged #9 is just below that.

I stock-piled T52s last year, but with these reports I might still have to get some of the new batch.

JD - people use the word "strength" in so many different ways - would you say the new T52 has a stronger nicotine hit, more intense flavor, more "peppery bite", all of the above, something else.. ?

Aroma.

Good question. All just turned up one notch ... (+).

T52 is not designed to be as balanced as a Liga Privada No. 9, but it is definitely brighter and fuller.

And your right, at the level the boyz are at on BOTL, its hard to use a word like "strength" cause it could mean so many things.

Best,
JD

^ I agree that the T52 is both brighter and fuller (funny, I've never heard anyone else use the term "brighter," but it's one I use a lot). I think they are pretty equal in the complexity department, and both get better with age. That's my opinion, of course, I know Steve doesn't like to age them.

Having said that, I was really impressed with both the UF-13 and FFP (only had 1 of each) in that I thought they were both fanfrakingtastic ROTT. The FFP was really strong (maybe even fuller in body than the Dirty Rat), but I like that sometimes. And the UF-13 was just so incredibly flavorful ... I think I liked that as much as the first T52 I smoked, and that cigar basically ruined most other cigars for me, lol.

Thanks; I really appreciate the info.
I like less nic and less bite (but big flavor), so I may go slower with the 2012's.
Good thing I loaded up on 2011's - I'm sittin' pretty right now.

My local B&M has gotten a few boxes of LP in lately. Got 4 boxes of FFP that went in one day... actually in 5 hours. Then yesterday
they got 3 boxes of T52 and 1 box of Dirty Rats. I happened to be there when they came in and snatched the Rats... I can't wait
to smoke em. Picked up a couple of the T52 Toros as we as a 5-pack of Robusto from Podman Cigars. Looking forward to trying the
revised blend

The Rats are my favorite, would be my daily if they were readably available.
