Hooligan is this your first build? I just finished my first.

It sure is. Been dying to build one for quite a while now. Been saving where I can here and there to start slowly acquiring pieces. Have a pretty good idea of my parts list and looks like I wont blow too far past my $1000 desired budget as long as I stick to my plan.

I was at about $1,100 but I have an extra upper receiver worth $80 so I was close to my budget not including mags and ammo.

A suggestion work out your sights and rail / handguard and be sure of your choices.

I do not intend to add an optic for the foreseeable future so I went with Fixed Sight Base. bUIS can get really expensive. Then added a PSA carry handle. I can always change out the carry handle later.

My upgrades I wanted and added cost are the ALG trigger, BCM BCG, Rainer Arms CHF barrel 14.5 inches with pin and weld flash suppressor and raptor charging handle.

Which BCG ?

I can recommend their premium full auto. It's $99. The general consensus is they are made by FN.

That's the one I ordered. It was $99 and came with 120 rounds of American Eagle 5.56. I also ordered their MOE lpk without trigger group in fde. I'm getting anxious now for the parts to come so I can get the lower built. Now I need to decide on a trigger

Giselle by far... Only word of advice is done make it to heavy. Had an old LE colt 6920 that I went too far with... It's a heavy miserable gun

Got my lower yesterday at a local gun show! Excited to get the ball rolling!

That thing looks nice, I dig the build in trigger guard. What was the cost if you don't mind me asking?

My bcg and lpk land Wednesday. Been putting in a bunch of overtime at work to help pay for the rest of the parts I'm looking for

When building the lower and installing the bolt catch instead of using a punch use a set of channel locks to squeeze the pin in. The best one is the Knipex plied wrench if you have them but tapped up channel locks will work as well.

$75. You can get them from primaryarms.com for $50. But I decide to pay the extra $25 since it was a local gun show and I didn't have to go through the hassle of finding a FFL.

I placed my order for a Rock River LPK, and Magpul MOE Mil-Spec carbine stock. Still up in the air about what upper components I want. But this build will take me a few months.

I had my lpk and stock kit arrive today. I couldn't wait until I finish my workbench so I did what I could with the vise NOT tied down! Lol, I got the mag catch installed along with the trigger. Need a few more tools before I finish. Not the best pic but here is what I have done.
