My little herfin' corner of Alaska, weather permitting:

If it's raining...and it's been doing that a lot lately, I set up a folding chair and sit at the open garage door.

I had a nice umbrella with a mosquito net, but a tornado came through and destroyed that.
Ouch. I hate to think of a tornado taking out my Mosquito Magnet or anything else, for that matter. One of the benefits of moving to Alaska was no tornadoes or hurricanes. Heck, we rarely get thunderstorms. Of course, an earthquake could take the whole deck.

Some dang fine setups y'all got. I appreciate everyone participating in this thread. It's nice to get some ideas to make my own area all the better. I'm really diggin the shed to smoking room conversion idea. Our house is for sale at the moment so maybe once it sells and we find our new place, I can tackle that shed idea and everyone can come over for a smoke. Anyone looking for a nice country home in the Virginia mountains? Make ya a sweet deal.

Our upper deck is rain-free most of the summer and fall, so that's my prime smoking cove. Fuchsias attract hummingbirds, my smoking companions. These woods above Henderson Bay are full of chirping birds and frogs that sing. When rain arrives (the wet season runs from Halloween to May), I go to the lower deck or an alcove on the front porch.

are you smoking in this yet ? i’m planning a similar setup in my basement curious if the smell will seep
I do occasionally, but its not finished.. basically just sheetrock. Coming up with $$ for the cabinets I want has things stopped for now.. I'm expecting I'll be about to finish it out this spring. As for the smell, yeah. It lingers, even with exhaust. Doing it in the house, I'd def put a layer of plastic down before the drywall to seal the room.
