Add a split ring to keep the two pieces together and it's a pretty handy portable stand.

I like that, I have a pneumatic punch but don't like using it on stainless, maybe I'll make one in .090" 2024 aluminum and punch ring holes. I hesitate to use aluminum, if left untreated it leaves aluminum oxide residue on fingers so I would want it anodized. Also, anodized aluminum makes great laser marks so that would be a plus. I can laser mark it, but can't plate it myself.

What would someone pay for black anodized aircraft aluminum cigar rests if they had the BOTL logo and option of a name lasered into them? Likely could sell them for $10-20 plus shipping, is there a market? That is a wild ass guess at this time, but would the brothers be interested?

I like where you are headed and the pricing seems right from a consumer side (not sure what your cost would be to make them) but I'd PM @Eric to see if it's okay to use the BOTL logo and get the approvals.

Even if he says no; you could do screennames etched into it just to personalize it.

Pricing in the $10 to $20 range seems reasonable. The place in the UK that makes these sells the stainless version for $21.66 with custom laser engraving. Small Batch Cigar has the wood version for $19.99. Laser cut, tumble, anodize, and you'll have a few bucks in each one if you run a small batch of 50 or so. Add the custom laser engraving and you are right in your target price.

I would only use artwork with permission, but I'll look into it when I have more than guesses on cost. The laser work is down the line.

That price for stainless seems low, I'll have to price stainless sheet and see what I can do. I'm not looking to make a lot of money on the deal but wouldn't mind getting paid back for material and time. I'll dig deeper and see what I can do. Thanks for feedback.

I couldn't resist and made a few for myself with my logo cut in them. Copper, brass, and titanium. The slots are 0.005" more than material thickness. I made the pieces a bit smaller, 1.25" x 2.75", holds a 50rg cigar 1.5" off the surface. Thanks @Necron99 for the idea!

I would definitely be interested in one if the costs/price works out for you to pursue it. Especially if you can personalize it (i.e., etch a logo/name). I'm sure you'd find a pretty sizeable market on here for them.

I'm sorry I just saw the other post that you used the waterjet. Youj should stencil some BOTL stuff on there.
That was presa_dad that did the water jet cut. I cut mine in a hydraulic shear and cut the slots on mill. Also presa_dad is 1/8" copper, brass and titanium while mine is .080" stainless steel.

To add BOTL artwork I have to talk to the guy that owns the website, so it's a maybe, maybe not. But I am working on costing out anodized aircraft aluminum and seeing if it would be cost effective. Can't spend all my time on it now, hope to know more next week.

Sounds good brother. Even if it doesn't work out, its still a great accessory to have and be able to make for yourself and your smoking buddies. Great job with it. Came out much nicer than the ones I see out there for sale in my opinion.
