@The Munt — tattling on yourself is a nice brick in that sobriety wall! Honesty with others, but foremost with myself, helps me stay sober. This idea that I was powerless over alcohol was difficult to accept at first. When I finally stopped trying to quit on MY power (“willpower”) and asked the God of my understanding for help, he delivered me from that obsession to drink, big time! But I have to remain focused on total surrender, One Day At A Time.

Agreed! Don't get me wrong, sobriety ain't easy, but finally accepting that I have no control over alcohol made it way easier.

It's a really great meeting, and I bet it would only get better if you join!

The crickets, they're chirping.

Shutting it down. Will try again next week. I really need another meeting in my life, so I'm not going to give up! If I can't get out to a meeting, I'll bring my meeting straight to your face lol

Oh man, what a kickass meeting we had today! A friend of mine from another cigar group was there, and got honest about how he hadn't been to a meeting in quite a while, and we might have jump-started his sobriety! I am feeling so charged up right now! Definitely going to keep this going. I hope that someday one of you guys will respond with some interest in this LOL! See ya next week!

Sounds like a good meeting VeLo. Hopefully it will catch on and grow.
I appreciate you tagging me, but I only get online with my old phone and it takes me a while to post. So I doubt I will join in under these conditions. I wish you and the group a daily reprieve for many days to come.

So remember how I said I was going camping? Sheesh. What a day. First, we were held up waiting on a dog food delivery that was supposed to be on my regular mail lady's truck but she never got it and we couldn't figure out where it was. Then, the upstairs neighbors had a pipe break in their bathroom, which caused the ceiling in our bathroom to cave in. That was fun. Then, finally on the road, we get rear ended on the freeway by some chick who gets out of her car and says, "hey, wow, I totally just dozed off. Whoops!" Luckily the whole family is ok, but we'll have to deal with the whole damage to the rental car thing. We did finally make it to the campsite, albeit six hours later than we had hoped. But we're here and life is grand after all that! Dealing with life on life's terms, and while I was a little stressed for a few minutes here and there, at the end of it all I was able to do the next right thing with composure and sanity. Carry on, brothers!

Big breathe. Everyone is ok. Sun shines. Feel the wind in your face. Smile. Then remember none of that meant anything after a drink. Keep on. We are all the same. Gotta love sobriety.

On behalf of @VeLoRoK , below is a repost of the SoBros herf link for today. I will most definitely be there at noon eastern time! Let’s talk about anything related to sobriety: step work, H.O.W., spiritual tools, emotional sobriety, the promises or whatever you feel like. Anything bugging you? Thinking of a drink? Or is there a solution or tool that’s really working for you?

Possible meeting starter: Sometimes I think alcoholic thoughts like, “I go to too many meetings; I don’t want to be TOO sober today!” That’s when I have to remind myself how much effort I once put into my drinking — and how quickly my alcoholic insanity will resurface if I allow it.

Hope to talk with some of you today!
