Anyone buy the maduro or Dom binder from Don within the last few weeks? Really disappointed in the quality I received. Over cased to the point its falling apart when I handle it. Waiting on him to get back to me about a return.

My dad bought a few pounds of various leaves from him a couple of months ago, right after the maduro was back in stock. Not even close to what I had from summer. Very light (relatively speaking), with greenish hue, whereas the pound from summer I just opened is not green at all. His was also very thin and difficult to handle without tearing, no matter what case it is in. I just opened my last lb from summer and it is awesome stuff!

I'm going to set mine aside, just in case that quality is a thing of the past. WLT's description has not changed, but I wonder if it is in fact a different crop. If the good stuff comes back, I will stock up again!

Thanks. That how mine is. A few leaves have a greenish hue but not many. Most of it is a flat dark brown color and it is very delicate. Nothing like the sample I received. Guess I just waited to long to order

Haha. Not sure if Don got new people working in his warehouse but I've had quite a few issues the last couple months. I've been buying off him for a few years and never had 1 problem until recently. Between getting over cased leaf that disintegrates or a bag of scraps I'm thinking about trying LO for filler again. I'd rather it come bone dry than too wet. Just wish LO had the Nic habano.

Never heard of such a thing. Intriguing.
When I was in Nicaragua last year a few places were growing it. AJ Fernandez had a ton of it growing. JdN had a small farm in Jalapa growing some and of course the Plenscia family was growing it. The group I was with was told its popping up everywhere down there. We were also told Padron and Oliva Tobacco Co are growing it too but we did not go there so I cant say if that's true or not. Makes sense for them to grow it though considering the price. Also I read a story that it's been grown in Cuba for years but they dont use it themselves. Its shipped to Europe and used on cigars over there.

Far out. Yeah, I'd read the Cuban thing too. Can't wait for your report on this leaf!

Yep I found it again and bought some. Nice description and some of the forum posts are promising. The wrapper on Google images looks nice too but they don't have it now.

I got at least 1/4 wrapper/binder grade out of the pound I got and didnt even go through it all.
