Bought today and cracked. Only had one pour of Stagg JR about a year and a half ago but wasn’t near into bourbon as I am now. Just remember it being hot. Passed on one last February due to that experience. Bring swing some praise for the latest batches so bought this one. Very good. Finish lasts for days. Definitely more in common with BT than GTS I’m assuming mostly from age.

The batch I had at my cigar lounge recently was much better then the bottle I bought around the time you had yours. Nowhere near as hot and one dimensional, despite being higher in proof.

Well that’s the end of that. Had for a total of 4 months. One of the benefits of having a growing collection, I can stretch a bottle much longer than before, when living two bottles at a time. The downside; I’m one less bottle away from my target of 24.

I am looking to pick up their rye soon.

I've had samples of the New Riff bourbon and rye. The bourbon had a youthful note, but was still very good. Cant wait to see how this progresses past 4 yr. The rye was very solid. New Riff is showing a ton of potential for only being in distillation for such a short time...

Thank you, I've heard good things about the rye and your recommendation carries a lot of weight. I agree about the distillery's potential!
