Matt, I'll be curious to know how you think the Old Ezra BS compares to the 107. The 107 is one of my favorite everyday pours, and I am hoping 10 extra proof only makes it better.

Good day right there, @brianc636 !

One of the guys in the Chicagoland Whiskey group has a solid connect with Whistlepig. He and a few guys did a tasting and selected 2 barrels (13 year old and 16 year old). One was super spicy, one super sweet.. and the blend takes the best of each barrel and marries them beautifully. Whistlepig did the actual bottling in 10 year bottles, with Morty on the back. I sampled it last night and it is outstanding.

That's a killer bottle. Been loving on the WP. If you haven't had Pingree products, you should. Off the chain.

Today, picked up 2 bottles of Blanton’s regular at BT after our tour. Also grabbed a bottle of Weller Special reserve and Stagg Jr while out looking for other things.

I saw Mayor Pingree Blue Label, which is cask strength SFTB. Sounds like that might suit my love for high proof...have you tried that one?

Last night, cracked open another store pick. Unfortunately, this one did not live up to the other 3 I have cracked the last couple months.

A shame too, as the store owner is a great guy. Well, I'm batting .750 with picks from his store, so I will not shy away from another that sounds intriguing.

Made everything better with a couple followup pours of Backyard BBQ.

I just opened one of those too. It's a 100% rye mashbill, and 120 proof. I liked mine. Not as much vegetal note as many ryes, but woody and a bit of mint or licorice on the finish. Plus, the sticker on the back is pretty cool...

I compared to a bunch of other bottles I have open, and it's most similar to Willett rye imo.20201006_122214.jpg20201006_122238.jpg

@gurgalunas , Willet Rye is pretty good ground to share, sounds like a winner. The store I got mine had a single barrel rye as well, but I opted for the straight bourbon. Perhaps I picked wrong? :shame:

Last night went with batches of two faves, Elijah Craig and Booker's. (shocking, right?)
