Hello all - been around lurking for the last year and some change but with little consistency. Every once in a while we get some of the familiar faces coming and going but unfortunately this place seems to have gotten a little quieter than I remember. Which is too bad, in all honesty, because over the years, this place has given so much!

Anyhow, I'm Jason - local degenerate and known to channel a Korean dictator at times. Been coming in and out of here since 2017, got to learn a lot from the folks around here, if not advance my CAD to levels most people have never dreamed of. I currently live in NorCal, been up here for about 2.5 years. This past year I jumped on board with a couple business partners and we started an automotive consulting business. It's still in its infancy, but I'd like to think I give pretty good car advice for anyone who might need it. Hell, I might even be able to help you get a better deal with less hassle.

Other than that, much like the rest of you, I like to smoke cigars and enjoy life. I don't drink these days, maybe 2-3 over the course of a year. I know there's a lot of people who enjoy their libations - maybe I just haven't found something I enjoy drinking enough to chase bottles. I play the guitar when I feel up to it (Fender > Les Paul), I keep some cool freshwater tanks (currently rocking a nano with some shrimp in one, and a betta in the other). I'm an avid electronics nerd - I'm usually buying all the latest and greatest, so if you need tech advice, from audio to TV, tablet to keyboard, I've probably got an opinion on it.

I'm going to try and be more active around here, because at the end of the day, changes (whether it be forum layout, policy, or people), that's life. I'd like to think we adapt and move forward for the better, and I'm not one to just sit and complain about what it was, but I'd rather look forward at what it can be.

With that said, let's see if we can drag some people back into the mud...

@Opforty stuck his head out, the plan is to make him regret that.
@Glassman, my fellow brother who spent a summer with me bombing everyone we could.
@qpzmide, a degenerate in his own right.
@bwhite220 slapped me up with the ugliest mug in my cabinet at one point.
@Just__Jeb is the a-hole who got me into this slippery slope.
@Jay_Habanos - his name says it all, and I'd like to point a finger at him for advancing my CAD,
@squaresoft, who's been a ghost, but shares my love of all things RPG.
@bostoneo has disappeared, but has honestly run more box splits than most of us combined.
@fisherclive, from the Dirty Mitten, still leaving a wake of chaos wherever he treads.
@ChuckMejia - the resident troll, and probably half the reason I kept poking my head in here. Your boy @Coincrazed misses you dawg.
@THEMISCHMAN - completely decimated me in my n00b trade.
@Hopduro - resident doctor and degenerate, and the glue that's been holding said n00b trade together.
@Rupe, who's remained consistent here with the lottos (I'm not sure if still to this day my number(s) have come up).
@akpreacherplayz, the resident preacher and herder of lost Alaskan sheep.
@mitetak, @navyvet, @Bondo 440, @Nacho Daddy, @NMPokerDealer, @StogieFisher, @StogieNinja, @Dran, @nc_6789, the list goes on and on.

I'm sure there's a whole bunch of people I'm missing (and a lot of people I can't seem to find, maybe after so long of inactivity they get deleted?) but beside the point. We've all spread out across numerous channels over the years, no homo, I'd like to see more of you clowns around here.

Special shoutout to @Mr.Brookz, who has single-handedly been the biggest PITA and and solid brother to chop it up with, even though he voted for Bernie Sanders. Twice.

@MC808 doesn't seem to be tagging correctly, but he's a legend in his own right. One of these days I'm going to make it back to an event bro!
@GreekElite - C'mon bro, where you at?

EDIT: Guess the last couple did work! Feel free to tag anyone you haven't seen around here in a while!

I am as guilty as anyone for not being active in here for some time... you named some of my favorite bros in this post. Where is everyone? Life happens I get it but let’s make this the place great again.

Side note if anyone is headed to Oahu please let me know. Would love to have a smoke with a fellow BOTL.

Yeah bro, same here. Life, along with all of the changes that came (between the forum layout, wave of people from other sites, and some of the policy issues), it just kind of came to a stop. But I’m going to try and make it a point to be more active.

I suppose I should pick up some lists and nominate some bros? There was a time that list turnarounds was 24 hours or less, now sometimes they sit for a month.

And you know next time I come visit to save a chair for me. Hoping that all this hard work pays and I’ll find a way back someday.

Same offer for anyone who ends up in Sacramento - let me know, let’s burn a couple cigars!

Speaking of hospitality - where’s @irratebass and @Unpossible_1? When I was in Indianapolis they were the hometown heroes!

Wow definitely some names on here that I miss seeing! I was just thinking today that I miss the good old days of the BOTL carpet bombs! We got pretty close to hitting every state in the US once.

Welcome back brother! @jasonatjl what freshwater fish you keeping these days? I’m hardcore saltwater reefing these days with my new system being 550 gallons, but still got my 90g discus tank planted with some rare plecos and a few other nano tanks.

@akpreacherplayz I fully expect you to come back into the fold as time allows, on threat of being bombed the cheapest, rattiest, biggest, stinkiest cigars I can find. :ROFLMAO:

@fisherclive Glad to hear it bro - that's my intention as well. It's hard to keep up with all the other little honeyholes, LOL

@qpzmide Isn't that the truth! Speaking of, where's @btort?!

@Mr.Draned Not sure if we've ever had the pleasure of interaction, but welcome back into the fold. Much like the others, I hope you stick around, under the same threat of cheap Churchills.

@navyvet I'll make it a point to be more active. I've been lurking in the shadows for a bit, I didn't really go anywhere, but just wasn't participating (same reason as you - no one was around).

@acer999 - Nice! I just picked up playing FFV on iOS. I've played it in the past, but never beat it. I'm about 40 hours in. Also just fired up Dragon Quest VIII on my 3DS, Final Fantasy 6 (3) on my iPad, and I've been eyeballing Secret of Evermore. I'm an old school RPG junkie. I bought a PS5 and find myself playing turn-based RPGs (Breath of Fire, Trails of Cold Steel, FF XII) more than anything. The backlog is real. I need to just take them one at a time, LOL.

@Hopduro Oh I'm sure. The debauchery hasn't really stopped, it's just moved elsewhere, or gone silent in the public eye. I've always said the "B" comes before the "L" in BOTL, and just because some things change doesn't mean we aren't all still a part of the same club. Some people leave, others arrive, but at the end of the day, I've been fortunate to count many of you as "digital friends". Whether it's chipping in to MOAB someone's mailbox, rounding up some donation money because someone is having a hard turn of luck, or taking notes when someone's crazy enough to let something slip out, there really is a good group of guys here.

Speaking of said debauchery, didn't you finally finish your degree, get married, and have other things we need to "celebrate"? #bombhopduro

@the camaro show - Currently nothing too exciting. I got back into the hobby at the beginning of COVID for something to occupy my brain. I've got a 3G nano with 15 red cherry shrimp I'm working on breeding, and another 5G with a crowntail betta and a albino bristlenose pleco. In the past I've had some larger tanks, but nothing anywhere near 550G. Biggest I've ever set up was a 90G when I lived in Hawaii, and even that was freshwater. I'd love to set up a saltwater at some point but for as much as I like to move (usually once every 5 years or so), it's hard to commit to having such a big setup.

Keep 'em coming!

nice! just a heads up, secret of evermore kinda sucks. i owned the cart way back when and the gameplay was really awkward. too many areas that all look alike so it's impossible to find your way around, even with a walkthru, a strange system of mixing ingredients to cast spells... only 3 linear levels and a tiny 4th level in space, not a big open world like most squaresoft games. and iirc it was actually developed in the USA by a short lived American team, so it's a "squaresoft" title in name only.

i haven't played any titles created after FF7... and from what i've heard, they are doing a FF7 reboot in multiple installments so if I ever got back into gaming, that would get first dibs.

I actually love SoE. I’ve had speed runs where I’ve jammed through the game in 11 hours. It’s essentially Secret of Mana with a Western stereotypical plot. A bit corny, but I too owned the cart, and have picked it up at least 3x in the past 3 years.

FF7 Remake was my #2 Game of the Year. Ghost of Tsushima beat it, just because of the gameplay and artwork. But the nostalgia factor with FF7R, and the updates made it as refreshing as if I was playing it for the first time.

wha??? that's like saying jack daniels is essentially pappy 23 with rye... that's cool though, not sure why I assumed you hadn't played it yet and thought I could save you 40 hours, and glad to know someone enjoyed that game.

yeah, if/when I get a PS5, the FF7 reboots will be mandatory for sure.
