  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Manager recommendation: I have 2 reasons to absolutely hate it. First, it's a rye. Second, it's finished. In French Barrique barrels even. 100% Michigan grown rye. Is that something to brag about?

Why did I buy it? The manager said it was his second favorite whiskey of 2024. and this is the guy who pulls me aside or even calls when something comes in. So yes, I will humor him. I'll report back...assuming it doesn't kill me.

If all else fails you can mix it. Is this MPG? What scares me is the lack of an age statement.

Might make a decent Old Fashioned if it doesn't please the palate straight. Jim.

It's not MGP , no age statement. They're touting that Two James is the first Detroit distillery since prohibition, and they use Great Lakes water. These are selling points?

I'll open it this weekend and give you a report.

I opened a new single barrel pick from Journeyman, a distillery in Three Oaks, MI. This one has a 100% Michigan wheat mash bill. Very grain forward with only 4 years of age, not complex and drinks higher than its proof.

Hoping for better taste with the new Booker's batch that hit Chicago yesterday, By The Pond batch.

Made the mistake of having 2 Expresso Martini's last night instead of bourbons. I've been up all night. WTF. Learned that I'm not drinking those again.
